Caregiver Respite

The purpose of the Wisconsin Chapter APDA is to serve people with Parkinson's disease, and we take that responsibility very seriously. We also realize the importance of taking care of caregivers.

The board of directors is excited to announce a partnership between the chapter and Independent Living, Inc., to provide respite services to caregivers of people with Parkinson's disease in Dane County. A pilot program will begin in January with initial funding available for 12 caregivers to receive 20 hours of respite each. Eligibility criteria include a Parkinson's diagnosis, membership in the Wisconsin Chapter APDA, and Dane County residency.

To apply for services or for more information, please contact Christina Snider, In-Home Services Program Manager, Independent Living, at 608/274-7900.

Independent Living, Inc. (www.indepenliving.com), is a not-for-profit organization that has been providing comprehensive in-home and other services to older adults and those with disabilities in Dane County for over 35 years.
